My dream and Future of Education

With the improving technology, I dream of a situation whereby teachers will only be facilitators in a classroom with easy work.
Distant learning for example sharing with a teacher like incase of Virtual University.
There is a social life in an indirect way whereby I learn from my house through internet and also have a teacher online and also web –conference with students whom you are studying the same course.
Able to share information with people from global village
I would like to see a 100% literacy level with professional educations
To have education that bears a direct impact to students’ life and the society
An education which can lead the country to be in first world
Education that can facilitate invention and innovation

Limitation
Lack of resources/poverty.
Cultural background, for example where some cultures do not allow women to go to school
Lack of hope for the future having in mind the history
Political instability especially in developing country
Lack of political will
Ignorance, since I have wealthy background hence education is not a priority.
Brain drain is the greatest limitation

Learning can be fun

When Theory combined with practical,
By open discussion among the student and the lecturer makes it interesting. Also Learning for knowledge not to pass exams
Team work and field work.
On job training working as you learn
Cooperative lecturers, allowing a conducive learning environment
Learning with people who can challenge ideas positively for knowledge

Technolgy is development

Effective and efficient communication: it has made communication and nformation dissemination very cheap and easy. This is because it saves time, eg you just need to use a mobile phone or internet to pass message to someone who is miles and miles away. Videos, and cds in learning especially has almost replaced a teacher where by they have all information recorded and explained in them. The research and learning through the internet has become easy and very cheap too as one needs to have acces to the internet you can get as much information as possible. Computers have made work very easy, satellites has made it easier to get information and news globally. Video web conference has helped many people to meet and discuss issues around the world without having to meet in a specific place. Distant learning replacing a teacher.
Industrialisation:- Industrial development in particular area have had a positive impact in those areas thereby contributing to town growth. This has been achieved through infrastructure and man power development all of which is as a result of technological advancement. This has created employment and improved standard of living of people around those towns.

Entertainment:- the development of computer games, growth of the music industries and the fact that it can be accessed through the internet easily.
Intelligence: investigation with the invention of small micro electronic devices such as tape recorders cameras and many others. Such devices can be used to track criminal activities.
it has led to Civilization/liberalization/globalisation
Data collection and Data storage and retrieval is made easy by use of computers
Business- marketing, e-commerce, money transfer, e-banking
Transport: aeroplanes, vehicles, rockets, missiles
Technology has brought about improvement of research e.g, genetically modified food, human cloning, test tube babies, and many other
Immorality: increased divorce, pornography, prostitutions,
Destruction: war, death, landmines, weapons of mass destruction, bombs all this has been as a result of technology.
Environmental degradation: over exploitation of natural resources, global warming, pollution of water and air.
Unemployment where man power has been replaced by computers and machines.
Laziness, people do not want to think and work instead they use machines to make-work easier.
Biological effects, diseases, radio activity, eye effects.
Erosion of culture by being brain washed, I always think if am not driving am not a human being.
Theft: by use of guns,
Distortion of information:
Competition of resources
“Familiarity breeds contempt” people know you and you know them and thus no more secrets.

Technology and learning
Easy to research for knowledge and apply.
Distant learning from different sources
Sharing information
Store and retrieves records/data
Enhanced competition. Especially opportunities

How I see my world

Unfair to me Reason, I expect the world to be
kind which gives me room for expansion in regard to my
goals. I do what I feel am supposed to do but no
return. Eg. I study too hard to improve the society
and the world through my work but at the end though a
graduate I dont get employment for me to put into
action my knowledge.
 Unconcerned world, it is until when am
pressed to the wall no one will ask me what is
happening about me. If I walk in torn cloths or even
walk in the streets naked no one will seem to bother
and ask me why am doing so instead if I collapse or I
commit suicide the society would want to come to me
and bury me when I cannot come back to life and say
thank you. Thus I am not able to express myself and
when I could, no body bothered with me. Eg Kagia a
freedom fighter in Kenya being recognized when he is
dead, does not pay the fruits of his labour.
 Too competitive/the law of natural selection
“survival for the fittest” where by when you have
HIV/AIDS you are not fit and you are inherited still
alive. Does not look at the advantage or my
contribution to the society or positive living. I am
considered past tense. The gap between the rich and
the poor is too wide and neither seems to realize the
other exists. Yes being poor you always see the rich
but nothing I can do I am poor because am poor. The
resources that, we are all supposed to utilize for a
better living only the rich who are also elite have
access. What I own as a poor person is taken away from
me simply because am poor and the rich feel that I
have no right to own it.
 Religion, it has become a cocoon where people
hide. You talk of religion and you do not follow the
doctrines and yet everybody is quoting the Bible. The
people talks of religion and actually says how
religious they are but the society unrest is
everywhere. The Christian and Muslim relationship that
is mostly the cause of conflict in some areas in the
world and both are religion, something is very wrong.
Also religion has become business, where by one starts
a church for example in order to get offerings or
money for your own personal interest to be able to
live in this world.
 Moral values- Both western and African
culture are not respected today. Moral decay has taken
place in our society. E.g asking for permission to go
for circumcision from your uncle before it is done
(African culture) no longer takes place. One does what
he/she thinks is best. Divorces especially in the
western have become a culture. This has influence to
both the children and the society.
 Politics- it has been compromised by
selfishness and egoism. Looking at ones own interest
and not the interest of the community. Eg forest bill
where farmers should be compensated when animals
(elephant) destroy the crop cannot be passed in
parliament but increment of salary bill, to the Member
of Parliament is passed unopposed.
 Traditional beliefs- Female Genital
Mutilation where some men would not marry
uncircumcised woman, wife inheritance having in mind
HIV/AIDS, a misconception that if you are HIV
positive, if you sleep with a virgin you will be
cured, this is especially in South Africa.
 Resources are not equally distributed.
 A dependency syndromes- I cannot do something
for myself.
 Technology – It has improved learning
especially in research and information, but also it
has some disadvantage for example the media is biased
through misinformation. Internet use has caused a lot
of immorality and increased in divorce though North
South intermarriage has greatly been taking place
(this is because of net meeting but for the Africans,
women are abandoning their husband to go to west for
marriage and greener pasture, thus breaking family
setting. Destruction of mankind- through chemical
weapons and physical weapons. Biological weapon.

I see the world: Full of Confusion, Corrupted, Power
imbalance, Unfair (bitter society), oppressive, Full
of immorality, War, ravage, Blood everywhere,
Discriminative, Inhabitable, Polluted, Populated,
Desperation, Cry at a distance, Diseases, Culture
eroded

I would like to see the world where people are
Informed (positive), Democratic (positive), Going
back to the root (positive), respect each other and
have a socialist world.

People tend to run away from problems and in most
cases addressing the symptom but not the root cause of
the problem. This problems affect peoples attitude,
thereby creating different perception on how to
counter the problems. This may be influenced by
certain factors.
Some of the factors affecting perception are:
• Culture
• Education
• Religion
• Family background
• Environment
• Governance
• Media
• Peer influence/pressure
• Politics
• Economy
• Geographical area
• Ignorance
• History
• Technology
